During the master class the players can play a violin especially made by
Sebastian Graebel, who bases his skills on Giuseppe Guarneri del Gesù, the Italian liuther well-known at the time when Paganini was to become the most noted del Gesù player. This particular violin came to be known as Il Cannone Guarneri.
The violins of Sebastian Graebel, who has his workshops in Würzburg and Heidelberg, are made of a symbiosis between the traditional shape of Guarnieri del Gesú, well known for emanating a glorious tone, and his own perceptions developed during his career. Graebel pays particular attention to the choice of the violin's material; from the Swiss spruce wood to sycamore maple, as well as the traditional manufacturing techniques in order to reach a warm rich sound quality from his instruments.
